There are at least 2 plant walks each month at different locations in the DMV. Most will take place in Washington DC and PG County on the weekends but some may take place a little further out if we find a sweet spot! I also do some evening walks when the sun is still out.<\/p>
During these walks I'll cover edible, medicinal and practical uses for the plants, trees and some <\/u>fungi. (Plants and Trees are my jam, I'm still learning the shrooms). We'll also discuss ecological benefits, ethical harvesting and proper identification.<\/p>
The walks last an average of 2 hours. They are slow, fun and family friendly although some children get a little restless after the first hour so kids are welcome but you know your kid(s) best. I often bring pre-cleaned or prepared samples to taste , we also harvest and eat fresh from the plant at times but this is 100% optional. Consume wild food at your own risk.<\/p>
After the walks I send supplemental material about the plants we encountered so that you can further your studies.<\/p>
